Year 7 Girls Team: Nottingham City Cross Country BRONZE MEDALLISTS

Once again we had over 30 students participating on a chilly but fine January afternoon at Wollaton Park against 19 other secondary schools in the City of Nottingham Cross Country Championship. Well done to all who worked so hard through the cold and mud. Brilliant effort and teamwork!

  • Year 8/9 Boys team finished in 9th place
  • Year 8/9 Girls team finished in 5th place
  • Year 7 Boys team finished in 6th place

Year 7 Girls team came 3rd place, achieving BRONZE MEDALS! (Meah Hatherley, Scarlett Harris, Leah Torrington, Charley Stewart, Kiera Richardson).

Meah Hatherley, Y7, sprinted into 8th place overall and qualified for the City Cross Country team who run next month.

Photo below shows Meah quickly striding to the front closely followed by Leah, Scarlett, Charley and Kiera.

Below shows our Exams Officer Richard Weir (England and GBR middle distance athlete) who has donated 2 signed athletics vests (1 England vest signed by GBR athletes; 1 Great Britain vest signed by Usain Bolt during an international athletics event in Australia 2017).

Both vests will be awarded to 2 of our cross country runners just before Easter for their excellence in effort, commitment and enthusiasm to do their best (in both training and races).
