Celebrating Sporting Success...

We are pleased to report that after winning the "City of Nottingham Schools Indoor Rowing competition" earlier this  year (for the 9th time),  the Bulwell Academy went on to represent Nottingham City in the Notts County regional championships at the end of last month and earned Bronze medals after coming in 3rd place.

Final Results from 8 Regional Teams:

1st:  25289 metres - West Bridgford School (Rushcliffe)

2nd: 25177 metres - George Spencer Academy (Broxtowe)

3rd:  24898  metres - Bulwell Academy (City of Nottingham)

The success of the team is a result of the students' commitment, excellent technique and great team spirit . This determination of the team along with Mrs Oliver's enthusiastic cheerleading and encouragement helped us to  a brilliant BRONZE medal position - and only 400 metres from GOLD!

Being awarded the "Spirit of the Games" trophy at the end of the competition (voted for by the competing schools and officials) was the "icing on the cake" for us - an extremely proud moment at the end of a fantastic day!
