Hands-on at The Big Bang!

Fri, 24 Feb 2017

44 of our Year 7 pupils attended the annual Big Bang Fair at New College Nottingham. The event gave pupils a great chance to get involved in STEM activities showcased by industry partners from around the region.

Students raced to build a wind turbine, got up close and personal with the animals from the 'Exotic Zoo' and learned all about the night sky in the planetarium.

The trip promoted the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) to students and rewarded those who had either taken part in STEM events at school or been nominated by their teacher for their efforts over the year. Mr Cook, who led the trip, said, “The students were a credit to themselves and the Academy".
